Horse Sense Workshop Helps, Rejuvenates and Honors Caregivers from All Walks of Life



Social workers, moms, teachers, massage therapists and doctors are just a few of the caregivers that work every day to help others. Horse Sense now offers caregivers of all kinds the opportunity to experience and learn self-care. This self-care allows them to perform at their very best, both personally and professionally.

This month, on October 21st, Horse Sense of the Carolinas, Inc. invites caregivers such as health care providers, massage therapists, body workers, social workers, counselors, psychologists, nurses, physical therapists, hospice workers, clergy, teachers and parents to attend the Care for Caregivers workshop. The day’s program will focus on helping caregivers of all kinds understand how to honor, preserve and support themselves while caring for others both personally and professionally.



The Care for Caregivers workshop will be held at the 90 acre Horse Sense farm in Marshall, North Carolina. Horse Sense of the Carolinas specializes in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL). Trained counselors, equine specialists and the Horse Sense herd facilitate this event. Through active participation and the acceptance of new skills and behaviors attendees will experience effective and long lasting personal change.



Care for Caregivers will explore the complex issues associated with compassion fatigue. Participants will have the opportunity to personally experience Equine Assisted Learning. In this unique setting they will identify the causes and symptoms of compassion fatigue, discover how to overcome compassion fatigue, recognize obstacles to self-care, understand that self-care is essential, demonstrate the skills necessary for self-care, and determine how to adopt behaviors that promote self-care.



Horse Sense of the Carolinas offers a variety of workshops and private counseling options that help people with numerous personal issues to apply solution focused techniques and experience immediate results. Interaction with the horses combined with comfortable and safe processing with the therapists and equine specialists can open doors to change in any situation.
