Mediachase Launches the US Postal Service ATLAS Management System on the IBN™ Platform
Mediachase announced today that it has launched the ATLAS Management System (IBN-AMS), which runs on Mediachase's IBN™ platform, for the US Postal Service
WASHINGTON, District of Columbia (PRWEB) November 17, 2006
Mediachase LTD. announced today that it has deployed the ATLAS Management System (IBN-AMS), which runs and was built on the Mediachase Instant Business Network (IBN™) platform, for the US Postal Service (USPS). The USPS IBN-AMS is an innovative hybrid system, which both enables web-based project management and collaboration, as well as a centralized management portal which monitors and maintains the entire ATLAS system including health status and productivity information on ATLAS internal system components, dependant external systems, and Enhanced Distribution Label (EDL) information from USPS facilities across the country.
The IBN-AMS compiles data from over 480 USPS processing facilities, over 900 separate servers, and tens of thousands of mail processing equipment, workstations and label printers into a central online portal. The IBN-AMS dynamically presents the compiled data in a real-time, manageable, visually appealing, easy to understand format. The IBN-AMS makes it possible to monitor the activity of ATLAS systems across the country and provide statistics and information on both a strategic management level, for executives and upper-level management, as well as at a tactical / operational level, for plant maintenance, delivery and management personnel.
Leveraging the backbone of Mediachase's IBN™, the IBN-AMS makes managing large amounts of information simple. It provides users with real-time status information, notifications and alerts, and functional reporting capabilities along with the other capabilities of the IBN™ product. By leveraging the inherent IBN™ project management and collaboration tools, the USPS uses the IBN-AMS to manage all documents, tasks, issues and personnel associated with the ATLAS and EDL program. Everything from the IBN versioning document repository, to its issue tracking feature, to its task management online Gantt chart was used by the USPS to manage the ATLAS and EDL program. By leveraging its flexible API and web service layers, the IBN-AMS, as all IBN™ products, has the ability to tie into a large number of data sources simultaneously. Once it has received the data, it has the ability to process it and determine what stakeholders need to be notified of alerts, updates and automated reports.
The IBN™, Mediachase's flagship product, enables teams to more effectively communicate, collaborate, and coordinate business initiatives involving people in multiple locations, offices or networked environments securely. It is it is an extremely flexible and powerful project management tool that has been used by a number of different companies, for a number of different reasons, around the world. Many of its component features, such as automatic and directed notifications and alerts, message routing, and file storage, enable the capabilities of the IBN-AMS.
The Automated Tray Label Assignment System (ATLAS) manages and standardizes label production for all trays, sacks, and tubs used in the Postal Service. ATLAS will eventually reach all USPS processing facilities and also the mailer community, which the IBN-AMS has been scaled to handle. "We are extremely excited about the IBN-AMS. We were able to take our existing product in the IBN, tie into a wide array of existing systems and quickly customize it to present information to serve specific needs of the Postal Service," said Peter Yeung, General Director of Mediachase's Washington D. C. office and its Professional Services group. "The IBN-AMS solution is a great success both for Mediachase and the US Postal Service."
Mediachase worked with the Intelligent Mail and Address Quality organization at the US Postal Service to develop the IBN-AMS from requirements and design through the current deployment.
